This is another fic that had me guessing for a while on the Jake front. When he comes into play, Edward hates him and he's always telling lame jokes. As the story progresses, you find out much more about Jacob and, once he gives the jokes a rest, he's actually a really nice guy.
Edward is a Mafia prince with anger issues. In the beginning of the fic, he beats the shit out of any guy who goes near Bella, even if they just want to help her out. He gets better as the story goes on though. You can tell that his relationship with Bella calms him down a bit.
The drama is crazy! You will constantly be on the edge of your seat. This fic is long, but I like that. It gave me so much to read and kept me interested the entire time.
Warning: Carlisle pulls a jackass move on Bella. I still haven't forgiven him for it. Be prepared to be mad at him for at least a couple chapters.

I love this story. It's one of my favorites. And it's really long, but worth the read. :)

ReplyDeleteIf anybody knows how to get an invite please let me know. I have been reading this story for a very long time and now i can't. :(
ReplyDeleteI found this on Khar's twitter:Dear lovely EP readers, the blog will be undergoing some big maintenance and changes over the next coming week (possibly longer) so there will be periods of time where you won't be able to access it. Don't panic, it will be back up. I'm committed to bringing you the end of the story as I've promised, and this will not hold up any future chapters (for those that are unaware, 80 is the last one). I apologize in advance if me making these changes is an inconvenience to you, but I think they're necessary. I am grateful for all of the support and I am honored you've stuck around as long as you have, and hope you continue to enjoy the last remaining chapters.
ReplyDeleteOh my god I agree with everyone up there I waw going to chapter 38 and I couldn't because it said that I needed an invitation, please fix it as soon as possible I can't stay one day without reading it, it's killing me
ReplyDeleteSo yeah in a couple of days (I hope) EP will be back on, meanwhile am going to be biting my nails because I need this story in my system if am not reading it I feel lost.
ReplyDeleteNo 80 is the last chapter this is sad :( , oh well I can't wait to continue reading it, am on the edge and I don't think I will be content or in peace until I can keep on reading it, this story has capture me and when I finish reading it am going to read it over and over again!
ReplyDeleteI started reading EP a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved it up until chapter 37. However, when I went to continue reading it a couple days ago I was told that I was not invited and could not access the story even though Ive never had any problems before. I really want to finish. Can any please PLEASE tell me where I can read Emancipation Proclamation?
ReplyDeleteI ran into the same problem and I'm up to chapter 74. UGH! Talk about frustrating. Anyone have any ideas? I would like to know what's going on. Especially after following it this far.
ReplyDelete80 will be the last chapter!!! That means it's only 4 chapters left! I love this story. I will miss it so much when it'll be over. Hope EP will be up for readers soon cause I haven't read the 76 chapter yet :(
ReplyDeletei have to remind myself to be patient...but im dying here i cant wait for it to come back
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE this story and was a bit worried when I couldn't get in to read it. Good to know she is just updating it becasue it would have really sucked not to finish such a great story. Thanks kharizzmatik for such an amazing story!

ReplyDeleteI read it once but i want to read it the second time. Somebody can give me the link were it's now??

Actually, the author sent out an email last fall. I'm thinking she took down the fanfic when she published her novel.
DeleteHere's the email she sent:
"Sempre: A Novel"
First of all, I owe each and every one of you a huge thanks for reading Emancipation Proclamation and being with me on this long tumultuous journey. Fanfic has such a huge place in my heart, and for that reason, I'll always be a part of it. There's something magical about delving into a familiar world you love so much and ensuring that a good story never truly ends. The creativity of the people I've met here astounds me. Despite the drama, despite the hatred and pettiness that sometimes occurs, this fandom is essentially a beautiful place. The love, the support, the will to make a difference... we see it all the time in the charity compilations for american red cross and the auctions for cancer research, etc. I'll personally never forget any of the people who have emailed me after donating to human trafficking organizations in EP's honor. You all rock.
Having said that, the website for my book, Sempre, is up.
http://www.JMDarhower.com/
It'll be out sometime in December, and you can sign up to be alerted to its release on the home page of the website. While the general plotline is still the same, the book is significantly different. It was rewritten from the beginning to put it in its own world, so to speak, so please don't pick it up thinking it's simply EP-with-names-changed in print, because it's not. It's much more (in *gasp* significantly fewer words).
The prologue is available on the website for you to read, and there's also a book giveaway you can enter. If you have absolutely no interest in it, no problem. This is the last time you'll hear from me. Promise.
Grazie Mille.
